Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire

Contract Type: Locum, Ongoing and Full-time

Pay Rate: £26 – £28 per hour (assignment rate)

Duties of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Assessing the mental health of people referred by their GP or partner agencies and providing time-limited interventions where appropriate
  • Cover duty around 1 day per week which involves triaging referrals and undertaking emergency assessments
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that is made-up of Consultant psychiatrists, junior medics, nurses, OTs, social workers, support workers (including peer-support workers), psychologists and admin

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Recent experience working as an Occupational Therapist
  • Recent NHS experience
  • Registered with the HCPC
  • Experience of working in community mental health settings with patients with severe and enduring mental illness
  • Assessment and communication skills
