Job description: Recra are working in partnership with a prestigious engineering company based in Coventry, who are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler / Toolmaker to join their dynamic team.
Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play a crucial role in assembling and testing various mechanical components used in work holding solutions. Your expertise in mechanical assembly techniques and attention to detail will contribute to the production of high-quality solutions that meet our clients customers’ needs.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to understand the assembly process for work holding solutions.
- Assemble mechanical components using hand tools, power tools, and other specialised equipment.
- Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure components meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on design improvements and potential manufacturing issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical assembly problems, making necessary adjustments or repairs as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Tool making or Mechanical engineering background.
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects when required.
Hours of work:
Mon-Thursday – 7:30am-4:30pm
Friday – 7:30am-1.30pm

Expected salary: £34000 – 50000 per year
