Job description: Buisness Development Manager/ Commercial Manager (Recycling)
Recra are working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading Recycling & Waste Management Companies, who are looking to add a Commercial Manager on a full-time permanent basis at their site in Enderby, Leicester.
Role and Responsibilities:
- To identify and source potential commercial opportunities and long-term business partnerships in line with Company objectives.
- To support Commercial in ensuring tenders, offers and other contract submissions are delivered accurately to a high quality and on time, in line with company objectives.
- Determine and prioritise future business growth opportunities.
- Maintain and manage relationships effectively amongst the supplier base, existing, new, and prospective.
- Managing price negotiations and service level agreements with new and existing suppliers to drive improved profitability and enduring best value.
- Gather and analyse market intelligence as appropriate.
- Keep the Company Board of Directors updated on market developments.
- To ensure that new business gained is managed in accordance with agreed margin/profitability criteria.
- To ensure Company standards and values are adhered to.
Essential skills and criteria:
- The position requires a proven track record within the wastepaper industry, ideally a minimum of 5 years experience working in the waste management and recycling sector.
- Understanding of recovered paper and other recycling material qualities.
- General knowledge of the local authority sector.
- Successful business growth in a competitive commercial environment.
- Experience in developing tenders.
- Knowledge of UK and European waste and recycling legislation.
- Be educated to a good standard at A-Level or above.
- Have strong IT skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent team player and a drive for results.
- Be prepared to travel to fulfill business requirements.
