Company: FTI Consulting

Job description: Who We Are

FTI Consulting is the world’s leading expert-driven consulting firm. Over the last 40 years, FTI Consulting experts have served as the trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies and the world’s leading law and private equity firms when they are facing their greatest opportunities and challenges. Our strong performance and continued success are a direct reflection of the ambition, energy, and commitment of our talented professionals across the globe to make a positive impact for our clients and communities.

At FTI Consulting, you’ll be inspired and empowered to make an impact on headline matters that change history. Working side by side with the world’s leading experts in your field, you’ll be surrounded by an open collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and most importantly, you.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join FTI Consulting and this is where you will do the most exciting and fulfilling work of your career.

Are you ready to make an impact?

The ISS team comprises 18 professionals in London. We come from different backgrounds but are similar in many ways – we work hard and always have our clients’ best interests in mind, support each other to make sure we share the workload and enjoy spending time with each other. The senior members of the team share their knowledge with the youngest members and will always look for opportunities for you to grow and learn. The team appreciates proactivity, therefore your ideas will always be listened to.

The team is made up of some of the leading professionals in their respective disciplines including Richard Mountain, who leads the Industrials segment of the team with 35 years of financial communications experience, and Edward Bridges, FTI’s global M&A head within Strategic Communications. The UK M&A lead, global head of Investor Relations, and a previous Tempus Editor of The Times also sit within ISS. Further technical expertise comes through members of the team with investor and governance ESG qualifications.

About The Role

The Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting is one of the world’s most highly regarded communications consultancies. Within the London office, we offer a broad base of disciplines across a variety of specialist sectors including Industrials and Business Services, Financial Services, Retail and Consumer, Digital, Natural Resources, Energy, Public Affairs, Real Estate, Technology Media Telecoms (TMT) and Life Sciences.

The ISS Team (Industrials and Special Situations) is well established and has been the leading London-based Industrials team for more than a decade. The team supports a range of FTSE 100, 250 and fast-growing smaller companies – many of which are often in the media due to their impact on society and the economy – across all their capital market needs; be it financial calendar focused, M&A and IPO, shareholder activism and / or wider reputational issues through corporate communications support. Further team-specific expertise includes Investor Relations and ESG.

We are currently seeking an engaged and passionate Consultant to join our team. Ideally, with between 6-12 months of experience relevant to financial communications. We are looking for an individual who can work well within a dynamic and growing team. Whilst previous Industrials sector experience is not required, support of listed businesses with the various aspects of capital markets communications is needed. Though the role does not require someone with a quantitative or financial background, a good knowledge base in relevant areas such as the workings of public markets and alternative assets classes would be useful. The foundations of an external network of key stakeholders, media members and among advisory groups predominantly, will be viewed positively.

We are a close-knit team and in your role as a Consultant you will be working on a range of exciting accounts. At FTI we invest heavily in the development of our employees, whilst providing a range of support from buddying to mentorship.

Whilst the role is focused principally on retained clients, the team’s Special Situations specialism will provide opportunity for involvement in M&A, and project work both within Industrials and in other sectors. There will also be exposure to the broad range of services within Strategic Communications including Public Affairs, Digital, Crisis Management, and People & Transformation.
