What’s the Role: Support Worker

What It Takes:

An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.

So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.

Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.

Where You Would Work: Kimberley House Supported Living

Kimberley House is a Supported Living Service based in the centre of Newtownards. We provide support to adults aged 18-65 with a learning disability to live within the community in their own homes. The service consists of 7 self contained flats and an adjoining house (80 Upper Movilla St). We provide 24/7 support all year round to the people we support including promoting their daily living skills, access and inclusion within their local communities and working alongside them to ensure that their needs are met on a daily basis.

The service runs 24/7 365 Days per year with shift patterns variable throughout the week and including a range of shifts and sleepovers. Non drivers are also welcome to apply for the role due to the central location of the site.

Company Maternity Pay

Salary Details:

Support Worker

Full Time, Part Time and Relief Contracts available

£21,557 per annum

*Salary based on 39 hours per week. Salary dependent on experience. Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of £45.00 per night applies*
