The Podiatry service provides a specialist role in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of foot problems for adult and paediatric patients registered with a BNSSG GP.

Location: Bristol

Contract Type: Locum, Ongoing

Pay Rate: £25 per hour

Shift/Working Pattern: Full-time

Duties of the Podiatrist

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis and implementation of individual treatment plans for patients
  • Provide specialist podiatry input to all patients that fall within their specialist field of expertise
  • Actively promoting self-management on all activities of daily living
  • Manage patients with complex medical conditions which puts the lower limb at ‘high risk’ of complications, e.g. Diabetes
  • Providing acute wound care management
  • Support the delivery of secondary care multi-disciplinary Diabetic Foot Clinics, and deliver podiatry services in offender health/ mental health secure unit settings

Requirements of the Podiatrist

  • Qualified podiatrist i.e. Degree or equivalent within Podiatry
  • Recent experience within podiatry
  • Registered with the HCPC as a podiatrist to work in the UK
  • NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
