Job description: We are looking to speak with multi-disciplined engineers with recent commissioning experience, regarding various long term contract opportunities as Project Engineer with a major client in the Nuclear industry.
The initial duration of the assignment is 1 year with potential for extension, offering long term job security.
As Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Identifying project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project.
- To manage engineering support to the project
- To contribute to production of Project Execution Plans including design, safety case and commissioning strategies
- Developing concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects
- Producing and/or approve project technical specifications
- Managing detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards
- Carrying out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments
- To provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent
- To specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning
Skills and experience needed:
- Good knowledge of Electrical Standards, design, installation and commissioning of electrical systems
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry and a strong knowledge of engineering Standards and procedures used in regulated industries. Nuclear experience preferred but any Safe System Of Work experience from a highly regulated industry will be considered
- Competent in fault finding and working with designers to design, plan, execute and test solutions
- Working knowledge of CDM
- Recent Commissioning experience
Qualification: Preferably BSc in Electrical Engineering (will consider HND or HNC)
