Butler Rose are currently seeking an NPD Manager with food experience to join our client, a leading company in the food production industry with a base near Plymouth on a permanent basis.
As an NPD Manager, you will play a vital role in the development of new products and processes, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the market. If you are a creative thinker, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of food production, we want to hear from you!
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with existing and new customers to understand and fulfil their development requirements.
- Ensure the availability of relevant ingredients and packaging to prepare samples in a timely manner.
- Plan and organise the product development process and production trials.
- Collect data, capture photographs/videos, and conduct product breakdowns for post-trial reviews.
- Identify and implement improvements or modifications to current processes and products.
- Formulate new production processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Generate creative ideas for new products and conduct feasibility research to support profitability and compliance.
- Stay updated on market trends and new competitive developments, providing regular reports to management.
- Analyse and report internal and external data to facilitate informed decision making within the company.
- Participate in competitor bench marking sessions and analyse product breakdowns, including shopping, panels, and results.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in new product development within the food production industry.
- Strong knowledge of food production processes and regulations.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative product ideas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with customers and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Package:
- Salary £40,000 – £50,000 + benefits
- Monday to Friday role
