About The Role:
FTI Consulting has five main practice areas focused on Corporate Finance, Strategic Communications, Economic and Financial Consulting, Forensic and Litigation Consulting and Technology.
This is a new role that will be responsible for leading business development for the Economic & Financial Consulting (EFC) practice. EFC specialises in providing expert evidence on matters of finance, economics and accounting in legal and regulatory proceedings. We lead the market in this field.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced business development professional to help us connect and maintain relationships with our clients who are primarily disputes lawyers. The role is primarily client-facing and focused towards identifying and converting opportunities for new expert mandates.
This is a new role which provides the successful candidate an opportunity to help shape our business development and marketing strategy. It involves ‘going-to-market’ alongside EFC experts as well as professionals from other parts of EFC’s business. While focused primarily on the EFC team, the successful candidate will also be an integral part of a small business development team working across other FTI practice areas whose clients are in the dispute’s community. The role will also involve working closely with EFC’s marketing professionals.
The Successful Candidate Will Be:
- Experienced at developing meaningful relationships with sophisticated professionals and have an existing network within the UK dispute resolution legal community;
- Able to understand why clients instruct experts on disputes engagements and articulate this in a clear and compelling way;
- Able to communicate with a variety of EFC stakeholders both within and outside of FTI;
- Able to identify and talk about current trends in dispute resolution;
- Able to work constructively within a large organisation;
- Open to new ways of connecting with the market, and forward-thinking in respect of business development activities;
- Understanding of the importance of integrity in the context of professional services expert work;
- Prepared for occasional international travel across Europe and the Middle East.

Basic Qualifications (or equivalent):
- Educated to degree level
- Highly experienced in business development or a combination of business development and client-facing experience at a professional services firm
- A proven history of developing long term client relationships at all levels across law firms and corporations
