Our Airfield and Pavement Engineering team are looking for a Principal / Associate Engineer to be based in any of our UK offices, to undertake and lead investigation, design and execution of pavement and asset management aspects of projects for airports.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking airfield pavement inspection, evaluation and design for the rehabilitation of existing pavements and the design of new pavements
  • Management of work packages and stand-alone projects
  • Client liaison as necessary to deliver the project
  • Production of technical reports

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Clear knowledge and understanding of the function and engineering principles associated with pavements, pavement failures, pavement investigations and laboratory testing.
  • Clear knowledge and understanding in producing technical reports and conducting whole life cost assessments.
  • Experience and understanding of airfield pavement design and evaluation methodologies including FAA, UFC, DMG 27 and BAA is essential.
  • Skills in one or more industry standard design software including FAARIELD 2.0.
  • Knowledge of pavement asset management systems including Paver are desirable.
  • Knowledge of heavy duty maritime pavements desirable.
  • Adept in the use of AutoCAD.
  • Undertake site specific risk assessments and safety checks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full, clean driver’s license.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in use of standard office software.
  • Capable of working to tight project timescales, work comfortably under pressure and have an open and honest approach.
