What you’ll be doing:
· Establishing and agreeing of project assurance programme, specifically associated with CEH/PEDs/Software, in the early lifecycle phases
· Performing critical reviews of the design information at the agreed lifecycle points providing constructive comments to ensure the design is compliant with applicable regulations and standards
· Identifying and ensure progress to resolution any concerns raised in the critical review
· Producing independent professional judgement statements at the appropriate certification points to support the Chief Airworthiness Engineer approvals
· Supporting the project teams, support, and service engineering organisations with the generation of risk assessments, ensuring suitable justification exists for action and the adequacy of the proposed remedial / recovery action
· Improving the independent assurance engineering capability within Air (specifically CEH/PEDs/Software) to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of engineers in a collaborative digital engineering environment”
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
· A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent engineering experience
· Working knowledge of RTCA DO-254 / EUROCAE ED-80 and/or RTCA DO-178 / EUROCAE ED-82 Design Assurance Guidance
· Ability to critically review design information and provide comments on them in a clear and constructive technical language
· Familiarity with safety standards such as Mil Std 882, ARP4761A
Desirable:
· Experience in the independent assurance of model-based design and integration role within any lifecycle/product area
· Requirements Engineering, Configuration and Data Management, Qualification and Certification
· Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering and/or Security Engineering
· Model Based Systems Engineering, Agile / Scrum Development
