Job Description

Are you a seasoned Database Architect with a passion for designing robust and scalable database solutions? DN Colleges Group is seeking a talented Database Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Database Architect, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture and performance of our data management systems, ensuring seamless integration with our applications and meeting the evolving needs of our organisation.

You will provide specialist knowledge and expertise for all business-critical business systems and information systems, leading and managing processes in support of the DN Colleges IT and digital infrastructure architecture and strategy.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement efficient and scalable database solutions based on business requirements.
  2. Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity and normalization.
  3. Select and implement appropriate database management systems, optimizing performance and ensuring reliability.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and align database design with overall system architecture.
  5. Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and define access control mechanisms.
  6. Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other tuning techniques.
  7. Plan and execute data migration and integration projects between different systems.
  8. Implement and document backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
  9. Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in the database field, assessing their relevance to our organization.
  10. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. You will have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Database Architect or similar role.
  3. Strong proficiency in database design, data modeling, and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server).
  4. Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
  5. Solid understanding of security best practices and access control mechanisms.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  7. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
