A boutique reputable construction, cost and project management firm is seeking a Clerk of Works in West Sussex. They are committed to delivering high-quality construction projects, and we are currently seeking a Senior Clerk of Works to join their team for a prestigious hospitality project.
You will be based on the project in West Sussex 3 days per week and will also work on London hospitality projects.
As a Clerk of Works, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful completion of the project. You will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting construction work, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and regulations. Your attention to detail and construction expertise will contribute to the overall success of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Inspection: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction activities, quality, and adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and any non-compliance issues, and provide comprehensive reports to project management.
Communication: Collaborate closely with the project manager, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address concerns, provide technical advice, and facilitate effective communication.
Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with local building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards.
Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders, including updates on the status of construction, quality control, and any outstanding issues.
Requirements:
Experience: Experience as a Clerk of Works or in a similar role, with a proven track record in overseeing construction projects.
Qualifications: A relevant construction-related degree or equivalent qualifications in construction management or engineering.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, building codes, and regulations.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring high-quality construction.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Leadership: Leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team.
