YOUR TEAM
The WSP Aviation team assists our clients with the strategic development of airfield assets. We differentiate from our competitors by combining commercial, financial, technical and operational expertise with engineering capabilities in order to create more value for our clients in a sustainable way.

We are involved from project origination through to completion across our planning and advisory and airfield engineering teams. Our consultancy offer includes transaction services (including PPP), investment advisory, technical due diligence, airport master planning, economics, technical and financial feasibility, concept to detailed engineering design, asset management and project management consultancy services.

This role will report to WSP’s Regional Director for our Civil Specialist Services group with our Civil Discipline. The role will require working closely with the other sector and technical discipline leads, and WSP’s international offices to ensure collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will be accountable for developing the UK Aviation strategy and in supporting delivery of the planning, advisory and airfield engineering strategies within the Civil Discipline. You will support the Aviation Team Manager and Regional Director in growing a market leading team by providing expert consulting services to clients. You will also support the strategic growth of the business through the development of strong client relationships. Your new role, what’s involved?

  • Develop, own, and deliver the multi-disciplinary UK Aviation sector strategy.

Accountability for delivery of planning & advisory and airfield engineering strategies
within the Civil Discipline. * Develop and maintain client relationships, proactively seeking and advancing

opportunities to broaden service offering to existing clients and initiate relationships
with new clients. * Promote, represent, and enhance company reputation internally and externally

staying well-informed of industry developments to ensure the Aviation business is
well-positioned. * Build a close and collaborative working relationship with the sector leadership of other WSP Aviation global teams to identify and secure strategic multidisciplinary

international opportunities. * Raise the market profile of the business and establish/maintain strategic partnering

relationships. * Gather market intelligence and develop strategies to meet the shifting market

opportunities. * Participate and speak at key conferences and in panel discussions as required.

Working alongside the Aviation Team Manager and Regional Director to build a high-
performing technical team with a culture of exceptional collaboration and be a role
model for the WSP values and behaviours, empowering and guiding operational and
technical leads. * Support the Aviation Team Manager in promoting teamwork and collaboration within

the service lines and across the wider business. * Act as a Project Director with a strong focus on technical excellence for projects

across planning, advisory and airfield engineering. We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A very strong current client network in the UK and overseas and a recognised name in the Aviation sector.
  • A thorough understanding of Aviation sector and business drivers.
  • Demonstrate appropriate key account management and leadership skills/behaviours.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and advisory and engineering in the aviationsector both in the UK and the international market.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others,expressing ideas effectively and professionally to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting the development and growth of a high performing team in a consultancy environment.
  • A strong track record of identifying, bidding and securing strategic opportunities.
