AJW Group is seeking a progressive and motivated procurement professional to join our Strategic Sourcing Management Team.
The role of the Strategic Buyer has overall responsibility for providing key support to the Strategic Sourcing Management (SSM) team and contributing to translating and executing the AJW Group Procurement Strategy as defined and agreed with the Head of Strategic Sourcing Management – CRO into a fully defined Strategic Procurement Plan. The SSM role will have clear measurable contract management and savings objectives and will drive key analysis and reporting to the teams as required.
Key Duties:
- Create and implement spend analytics and reporting capability to support the SSM team with their deliverables demonstrated through a strong technical skillset, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in effective supplier management techniques, including commercial and qualitative performance, risk management, and supplier relationship management.
- Management of new procurement engagement requests and facilitation of key relationships with AJW tactical buying teams
- Support SSM with day-to-day procurement activity including RFP’s, evaluations, contracting and key reporting

The Person:
- Demonstrable experience in procurement activity either having worked as a buyer, procurement specialist, or procurement analyst in a complex environment.
- Good commercial acumen, with the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret spend, volume, and market data and understand the broader impacts aligned to the procurement plan.
- Ability to create and implement spend analytics capability to support SSM in their savings and benefits opportunity assessments demonstrated through a strong technical skillset, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in effective stakeholder and supplier management techniques, including commercial and qualitative performance, risk management, and supplier relationship management.
- Broad technical and commercial understanding of the aviation repairs industry – Desirable.
- Full or part CIPs qualified or working towards CIPs qualification (minimum Level 4).
