JOB TITLE: Security Engineer
SALARY: £46,000 – £53,550
LOCATIONS: Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds, Halifax or Manchester.
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site
About this opportunity
Do you want to join a fast-paced team that is at the forefront of developing new detection and response capabilities within the Chief Security Office?
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Security Engineer to join our Technical Development & Delivery team.
In this role you’ll use data analytics solutions to drive innovation and enable the cyber threat management strategy. You’ll also develop and implement security controls which protect the bank from threats.
Working with our wider Engineering and Operational Colleagues you’ll:
Take ownership to learn about and become a knowledge expert in all team services.
Challenge ineffective processes, actively suggest improvements to your Squad Lead and Engineering Manager.
Be an advocate for knowledge sharing in the team, ensuring all knowledge is documented and available to others in the team
Develop and implement threat monitoring use cases in accordance with business requirements. Produce clear and consistent technical documentation.
Provide technical assessments to assure the ongoing efficiency of the detective controls to adapt to

What you’ll need
We understand that no one can be an expert in every aspect of Cyber Security. So, if you have a strong technical background, we’d like to hear from you.
Specifically, we’re looking for:
Technical knowledge of Detection and Response toolsets (e.g. SIEM/ SOAR/DLP) with expertise in developing ingestion methodologies and a keen focus on automation.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, GCP) and deployment toolsets.
Strong quality focus with a demonstrable systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
And any experience of these would be really useful:
Coaching and mentoring teams to adopt the latest techniques.
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
