A leading food manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join the business. This role will report to the Senior Buyer and support the Purchasing Manager with the execution of short, medium and long term purchasing strategies to maximise business competitiveness in line with business requirements. The Purchasing Assistant will also develop effective internal and external stakeholder relationships and complete all procurement administration.
Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities include:
Support with the preparation for tenders
Support with Contract Balance Management maintaining accurate records of volumes through regular updates with suppliers.
Administration of Tropos (MRP platform) inputting contracts, forecasting information, keeping data up to date and raising purchase orders.
Support with sourcing and managing new raw material and packaging requests. Manage and provide sample lead time, pricing and specification, and completion of new product information form in a timely manner.
Supporting with managing key raw material forecasts communicating with suppliers.
Procurement administration duties including administration for supplier contracts, recording approved suppliers and spend for each, Managing ingredient trial requests
Management of all NPD requests from the chefs and NPD team.
Manage the specification process with suppliers and internal team for approval.
Support to develop and maintain excellent supplier relationships with key strategic / critical suppliers to improve supplier performance
Support in constantly seeking ways to source quality, cost-effective raw materials in line with market requirements to ensure customer satisfaction.
Liaise with Technical Department over supplier assurance protocols to ensure that all existing and future suppliers adhere to our requirements and regulations, and managing robust SLAs.
You will be a purchasing professional, ideally with manufacturing experience.. You’ll need to be experienced using all MS Office applications and have previous experience of working in a similar environment.
