Faculty / Directorate
The Faculty of Art Design and Humanities (ADH) is home to many of DMU’s creative disciplines and humanities subjects and is one of the UK’s leading Higher Education providers of creative disciplines. Working in a busy and dynamic administration team, we provide professional support service to our 5000 students and 300 members of staff across our 3 main buildings; the award-winning V J Patel Building, the Clephan Building and our Performing Arts Centre of Excellence.
Role
You will work as part of the academic team in the Centre for English Language Learning (CELL) and teach at all levels at DMU contributing to the specialist expertise on offer for the whole university, building sustainable structures for the delivery of this expertise and learning, and supervise students as appropriate.
You will be expected to lead in certain areas as directed by the Director of CELL and Head of School, such as CELL’s summer and autumn pre-sessional programmes, and commercial programmes such as Aviation English and English for Tourism and Hospitality.
You will be expected to contribute to the planning, design and development of appropriate teaching, learning support and assessment methods both analogue and online.
The role is on a full time basis, fixed term contract. This is to cover a maternity leave for up to 12 months, or upon the return of the postholder, whichever is sooner.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of leading large-scale Pre-sessional English or EFL courses.
- Experience of teaching and assessment on Pre-sessional courses at UK HEIs.
- Experience of providing online learning using a variety of tools such as MS Teams, Skype and other innovative software.
£38,205 to £41,732. Grade F
Expected salary: £38205 – 41732 per year
