As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Quality Manager.

The successful candidate can expect to:

Be responsible for leading a Quality team of quality engineers and inspectors, including objectives setting and performance appraisals. The candidate can expect to be responsible for coordinating activities required to meet world-class quality standards, procedures, customer, regulatory and be compliant to the defined requirements, whilst promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation. The candidate will lead and direct the workforce in problem identification, problem solving and implementing continuous improvement measures through use of Quality Clinic, Lean principles and CORE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and advise on quality performance, producing data and reports on performance measured against set indicators
  • Liaising with other departments and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that QMS is functioning properly
  • Lead problem resolution process in a cross-functional format that supports production needs and increases customer satisfaction
  • Manage and drive key plant initiatives and Policy Deployment (PD) activities
  • Ensure that the set QA objectives and metrics are achieved e.g. Policy Deployment, CAS (Commercial Aircraft Segment) and Kilkeel KPI’s, Customer and Program Specific NPI targets
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training.
  • Collect and analyse customer performance data and implement improvement plans.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of QMS through internal audits, agreeing with the relevant managers any corrective action.
  • Experience of audit and customer management.
  • Manages the collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources for use in developing long-term quality strategy and programs. Manages plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets and ensuring quality standards are met .
  • Manages implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving. Manages quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
  • Performs product and process audits and quality audits and reviews. Reviews quality data and determines if all products and processes are aligned with regulatory standards. Recommends corrective actions and process reengineering.
  • Responsible and accountable to ensure the plant meets all customer requirements, implementing programs necessary to support customer satisfaction; and Provide Quality Assurance support to manufacturing to fulfil Internal Quality metrics and goals.
  • Provide Quality Assurance support, business unit control, Process improvement projects, technical support, customer liaison in resolving quality escapes, customer complaints and corrective action process, source inspection support to production line and act as POC for production lines with customer source inspection, regulatory safety issues, customer audits and escapes.
  • Leads the development of inspection plans and manages inspector workloads to ensure effective use of resources. Manages the maintenance of inspection logs and the preparation of inspection reports, technical reports and presentations to document results so that performance problems can be identified and resolved.
  • Responsible to execute quality control plans on the floor and on-line, performs First Article Inspections (FAI) as per AS9102 and conformity inspections ,raises notifications of non-conformance, quarantines non-conforming product and, when approved to do so, provides disposition.
  • Directs activities and manages experienced Quality Inspection professionals in the execution of inspection tasks to ensure adherence to established department, organization and customer specification parameters.

What you need to succeed?

Essential Criteria:

  • Third level qualification in quality or other related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable management role with relevant people management experience.

OR

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role with relevant people management experience.
  • Working experience working in customer interface environment

Desirable Criteria:

  • 5 years working experience in Quality or Engineering gained in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Experience of product and process quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Have a solid understanding and experience of ISO9001/AS9100.
  • Have significant experience in applying problem solving methodologies e.g. 8D.
  • AS9100 Certified Internal Auditor.
  • AS9102 experience / training completion .
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement / Red x certification or Collins training
  • Operation Quality with customer interface skills are preferred.
