Job description:

  • 1st Line IT Support Engineer
  • Plymouth, Devon
  • c£25,000 per year
  • Plus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Pension, Healthcare and Training/Certifications paid for, etc.

Skills and Experience:

  • Act a first point of contact for the IT department via both phone and email.
  • To accurately log and categorise support tickets and requests.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff and end users for a wide range of software applications including in-house and administration software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage own time on a busy helpdesk
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 knowledge (Email concepts, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD)
  • Basic network understanding (LAN, WAN, VLAN, WIFI, IPSEC, VPN)
  • Knowledge of onsite/offsite backup products and storage (including cloud storage)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Technical qualifications such as CompTIA A+ would be advantageous but not a requirement
  • Knowledge of Windows Servers (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPO’s, Print Management, AD Sync) would be desirable

The Opportunity: My client are a managed service provider who are currently looking for a keen individual wanting to get into a career within IT you must have a minimum of 3 months experience in a commercial role. The primary function of this role is to provide professional, efficient, proactive and reactionary IT support, play an active part in project roll outs and to provide first point of contact for technical support requests. Please note that the training programme will be something that needs to be completed alongside your day-to-day role and that once this is completed you will have a full time position with the organisation.
