Right now, we’re looking for a passionate Logistics Manager to join us.The Role: Overall Purpose (adding Value to Pret)Deliver excellent service from Pret’s logistics partners through effective planning, communication and management.
To investigate areas of opportunity to improve both service and cost from Pret’s logistics partners
Act as a point of escalation for shop issues pertaining to deliveries and serviceScope of the RoleDeliver service excellence through:
Highest achievable service levels and product availability
Management of 3rd Party Logistics provider performance
Seasonal volume planning
Seamless New Store Opening (NSO) planning from approval to trading day
KPI reporting and analysis
Effective cost management of 3PL Operational P&L
Creating and maintaining working relationships between 3PL, Airports, Train Stations and Franchisees.Core ResponsibilitiesLogistics

  • Day to day management of Prets nominated logistics partners
  • Supporting New Shop Openings, including account set up at 3PL, review of access, delivery windows, storage conditions, space and supporting opening orders and deliveries. Close collaboration with our Property team is essential.
  • Create and Maintain shop delivery schedules to optimise vehicle usage and assist in the creation of 3PL route books to ensure all shop delivery restrictions are included.
  • To ensure all Store delivery briefs are up to date and sent to the 3PL.
  • Leading weekly Operations calls with 3PL to resolve medium term issues and planning.
  • Bank holiday and seasonal delivery planning
  • Management of Pret Shops Order and delivery schedules in StarHO.
  • Monitoring and resolving ‘service now’ delivery issues with Pret’s nominated distributors and communicating resolution to Pret shops
  • To manage the set up and maintenance of StarHo and StarKIS ordering systems
  • Proactive communication to the business via Weekly Shop Communications.
  • Support in the review of both warehouse and vehicle capacity and identify ways of working improvements and costs savings
  • Support the Supply Chain team on new Product Launches, for example- new products handling, packaging and storage conditions
  • To maintain any logistics documentation on the Planet Pret intranet system.
  • To maintain an up-to-date Shop Contact Detail List for 3PL teams.
  • Management of 75B projects where logistics input is required
  • Support the company sustainability goals and projects

Relationship Management

  • Work with 3PL and Key Sites (Airports/Network Rail) to maintain an effective delivery process.
  • Work with 3PL and Franchisees to address and resolve any delivery or financial issues.
  • To set up distributors for any new sales initiatives.
  • To respond to and resolve any queries from EHO officers relating to 3PL delivery infringements.
  • International logistics co-operation- sharing best practice with other Pret Markets when required
  • To maintain a close working relationship with the shops operations teams and to lead coaching and communication of any logistics initiatives.

Review

  • To prepare and issue Logistics KPI reports on a weekly basis
  • Attend Monthly 3PL Operational Review Meetings both for Southern and Northern Hubs.
  • To review the effectiveness of 3PL reporting and suggest improvements that will add value to the business
  • Communication to the business of logistics issues/resolutions.
  • To attend the Shop’s Voice meeting (monthly)
  • To conduct Shop information Cascade meetings when required. (adhoc)

Financial

  • Work with the Distributor and Logistics Planners to reconcile shop credits and reporting of these to shops and Ops.
  • To use the shop CCTV system to investigate stock loss claims.
  • Management and scrutiny of distributor KPI’s, costs and service levels
  • To support the UK Head of Supply & Logistics with yearly budgeting process
  • To monitor and report the cost of distribution to NSO sites.

Additional Responsibilities

  • To stay informed of TFL freight updates.
  • Line Management/Supervisory responsibilities of Logistics Planners (Internal/External)
  • Some unsocial hours, weekend and bank holiday cover is required
  • Attend a number of buddy days in a designated shop
  • To stay informed of TFL freight updates and Airport/Network rail requirements for distributors.

Excellent understanding of retail operations and shop delivery processes.
Ability to review current operations and propose improvements to service and cost
Experience in forecasting, budgeting and cost management
Experience of multi-site or complex operations management.
