Job Description
Academic Lecturer in Computer Science (specialism Multimedia. Mobile and Web Development technologies)
Maynooth International Engineering College (MIEC), in partnership with Fuzhou University, is seeking excellent candidates to lecture on our media technology related modules in our computer science programmes. These programmes are taught through English in Fuzhou University, Fujian, China. The person appointed will be working as part of an international team with a mission to enhance the international academic experience of MIEC students and to deliver research-informed teaching. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to visit Maynooth University in Ireland to facilitate learning development and research collaborations.
This position is full-time for up to 3 years, with the option for extension.

Salary Package:
Salary range: 220,000RMB to 350,000RMB per year.
Academic Requirements:
Candidate must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a Cognate Discipline. Applicants with demonstrable prior knowledge in any of the following areas: Audio processing, Music Technologies, Virtual reality systems, Image and Video technologies applied to media systems, along with Java programming are especially encouraged to apply. Experience of undergraduate project supervision will be an advantage. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of the Maynooth University academic curriculum within a European pedagogical approach to the Maynooth International Engineering College. The successful candidate should ideally have at least 2 years of university teaching experience and a strong research record.

Candidates should:
- Have a PhD and/or teaching experience from a European, or other English-speaking country;
- Have an excellent command of spoken and written English;
- Provide evidence of strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
- Be willing to work in Fuzhou, Fujian, China;
- Be eligible for a Chinese visa. Applications from people that are currently based in China are especially welcome. The teaching will be in-person in Fuzhou, China.
- Be available to start in September 2025;
