We are looking for an Account Technician, based in London.

Allianz Commercial is a leading global corporate insurance carrier and a key business unit of Allianz Group. We provide risk consultancy, Property-Casualty insurance solutions and alternative risk transfer for a wide spectrum of commercial, corporate and specialty risks across 10 dedicated lines of business.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Team Leader, Operations (GBO), your primary responsibility will be to provide an efficient administrative and processing service to Underwriting, Accounts, Claims, Credit Control and our Brokers/Clients for our Marine and/or Aviation Lines of Business. Your responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting source underwriting materials to ensure all information is complete including broker presentation, slips, underwriting files and accounts.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Manage accounts of varying complexity levels, ensuring responsibility for low, medium, and high-tier portfolios.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting to resolve queries and address concerns related to coverage and policy wording, ensuring authorization aligns with assigned limits.
  • Input accurate and timely information into IT systems for new and renewed business, accompanied by the preparation of regular reports.
  • Generate customer invoices and produce necessary documentation such as policies, certificates, and endorsements for Brokers or Clients/Co-Insurers promptly and accurately.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Underwriting, Accounts/Credit Control, Reinsurance Accounts, and Brokers, actively participating in relevant meetings.
  • Oversee the maintenance and follow-up of accounts within designated responsibilities, promptly escalating any issues when necessary.
  • Conduct risk checks in accordance with compliance procedures.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • You possess a solid grasp of relevant products, terminology, terms and conditions, as well as proficiency in the policy administration life cycle.
  • Ideally, you have gained initial experience in policy administration within the insurance sector, with a specific interest in Marine/Aviation insurance.
  • You bring 1 – 2 years of administrative experience in a corporate setting.
  • Your proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is commendable.
  • You have either embarked on a recognised insurance qualification or are keen on pursuing one.
  • Being data-driven and inclined towards innovation, you are adept at implementing new digital workflows.
  • Your meticulous attention to detail is evident in your work.
  • As a proactive team player, you naturally prioritise customer satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations, you remain composed and effective under pressure.
  • Your excellent communication skills contribute to building positive relationships across your network.
