Accountancy Support Officer Job description
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to an Accountancy Support Officer post. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our Management Accounting Team that supports the Councils’ services. The Council is pursuing an exciting transformation agenda to better meet the needs and improve the lives of our residents, local businesses and visitors: so it is a great time to join the Council.
The role is based in County Hall, Llandrindod Wells however the Council predominantly operates through flexible working from a variety of locations including at home and at local offices which are near to where you live.
About you:
Candidates must have good communication skills, strong numerical reasoning ability and be confident users of Microsoft Excel. A can-do attitude, willing to learn and help and support where needed is a must.
This is an entry level job into the Corporate Finance department of the Council, so a good place to either start or further your career. The Council provide professional study support and encourage career development.
What you will do:
Assisting in the monthly planning routines to monitor service spend and analyse staffing data, to provide regular forecasts and assist budget planning.
Help maintain systems and procedures for the effective financial operation of the Council to facilitate accurate budgetary management and forecasting.
Respond to financial queries to ensure robust, timely and accurate financial information
Complete regular reconciliations of financial codes, to ensure the Council’s financial controls and systems are robust.
