Job description: I am recruiting an exciting Accounting Project Manager role within the Public Sector space. This is a permanent, newly created role to support the business through a period of transition. This would be suited to someone with a solid grasp on general ledger accounting who has good business partnering and project managing skills.
The Accounting Project Manager will report to the Accounting Services Manager. Duties of the Accounting Project Manager include but are not limited to:
- To work on projects with the support of the Accounting Manager which have an impact on the Accounting function
- Review and drive continuous improvement for Business as usual activities within the Accounting team, designing and implementing new processes to improve efficiency’s
- Lead and support on a number of business critical projects that have a direct impact on the Accounting function and the wider finance team
- Project implementation and transition into business as usual processes

The successful candidate will:
- Be a part qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) Accountant
- Have experience working in a reporting environment
- Have a proactive approach and an ability to work independently and manage a number of different stakeholder relationships
- Have intermediate excel skills
- Have advanced analytical and numeracy skills
- Have an ability to work well to deadlines
- Have good communication, negotiating and influencing skills
- Have effective problem solving skills
My client is a national Public Sector Organisation based in North Nottingham. They are a forward thinking, progressive business that are currently undergoing change and this is a newly created, key role to support on multiple business projects that will impact the accounting function.
The successful candidate can expect a starting salary of £37,060 with realistic progression to get to £43,600 over a three year period + 35 days annual leave + fabulous home working opportunities with 2 days in the office + excellent employer pension up to 6% employee / 12% employer + access to flexible benefits + access to the Blue Light Card + other voluntary benefits including free, on site parking
