Job description: To provide professional and managerial leadership across an Financial Accounting functionTo provide professional and managerial leadership across Accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial systems and that all Financial Accounting and Treasury functions are carried out to a high standard in compliance with all relevant regulations, legislation, applicable accounting standards and the corporate governance framework.Financial Management & Planning

  • Provide expert financial support, guidance and advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Oversee the production of the month end ledger, processing of all ledger feeder systems and operation of ledger close down procedures in line with strict reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare complex ledger transactions, analysis and detailed forecast projections together with all associated supporting documentation, financial modelling and relevant authorisation records to ensure there is an appropriate audit trail.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of VAT returns
  • Oversee the working capital position
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function ensuring timely and accurate payment to suppliers in respect of goods and services
  • Develop and maintain KPIs in respect of all debtor and creditor balances to improve cash flow and minimise bad debts and write offs.
  • Lead the production, approval and publication of Annual Accounts in accordance with all relevant accounting standards, guidance and legislation
  • Oversee the management, recording and reconciliation of funds

  • Professionally qualified CCAB or CIMA with relevant post qualification experience at a senior level
  • Specialist knowledge and sound technical accounting skills
  • Understanding of strategic issues
  • Good working knowledge of corporate governance documents, financial operating procedures and accounting protocols
  • Excellent collaborative leadership and Interpersonal skills
  • Track record of promoting best-value and integrity of financial systems, policies and processes
  • Ability to lead, management, support and develop a stable team in Financial Accounting

Expected salary: £56000 per year
