Job description: Accounting Technician (8/108)Dumfries / Hybrid£25,509 – £32,043An opportunity to join the Finance & Accounting function of Dumfries and Galloway Council as an Accounting Technician has become available.As an Accounting Technician, you will be required to work as a member of a team, supporting Finance colleagues in the delivery of a quality financial service to clients.Accounting Technicians assist with a diverse range of financial activities including revenue and capital budget monitoring; maintenance and development of our Financial Management Information System (Integra Centros); assisting in the preparation of final accounts; preparation of financial and statistical returns; data analysis/manipulation and the continuous improvement of the services provided to our clients and undertaking appropriate research.Candidates should have an element of accountancy experience, knowledge of computerised general ledger systems and good communication skills.The successful candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, committed and ideally will be a qualified Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. However, those with equivalent qualifications and experience will also be considered.A flexible/hybrid working approach between home and the office will be available for this position.
