Who we need
We are looking for an experienced Additional Support Tutor, with a specialism in supporting learners with Dyslexia to join our ALS team. You will be supporting Apprentices who are based across all college campuses. Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to Apprenticeship teams on how to engage with dyslexic and neuro-diverse apprentices
- Assessing apprentices using a variety of tests to determine if exam arrangements are required
- Working to tight deadlines to ensure arrangements are in place for our apprentices
- Be confident in having challenging conversations
- Continue to upskill with the relevant training, i.e., taking part in CPD days, annual PATOSS (or equivalent) updates, that are required in the role.
What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Essential skills required include:
- You will hold a level 7 SpLD (Dyslexia) qualification.
- Strong organisation and planning skills
- Able to be proactive in working independently
- Understand and have a commitment to the delivery of high-quality education
- Experience of producing Individual Learning Plans, Support Plans and assessment reports
- Demonstrate the ability to contribute to staff development on supporting apprentices with specific learning difficulties
