Job description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic Support Secretary to join our friendly and dedicated team. The job role is varied and requires individuals who can adapt well, manage all duties effectively and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.You will need to be reliable, flexible, and hard-working with great communication and IT skills. You will be expected to work as a team member and also as an individual using your own initiative.To provide effective and efficient admin and clerical support to the medical secretarial team in the Gastroenterology Department.To provide admin and basic secretarial support to the clinical and administration team as required.Main duties of the jobTo assist the Gastroenterology team with obtaining and tracking medical records to and from the department.To manage and prioritise incoming and outgoing post in a timely manner and upload correspondence to patients electronic records.To transcribe nurse specialist clinic letters and reports as required.To undertake any other duties as appropriate to the grade in order to fulfil the requirements of the post.Make outpatient appointments on computer system when required.Undertake any other clerical duties as required, including photocopying, maintaining stationery requirements and dealing with telephone queries to ensure the smooth running of the department.Deal with telephone queries to the department in a prompt and professional manner.Any other tasks relevant to the post as directed by the Senior Medical Secretary.Work flexibly as part of the Gastroenterology team.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with fivehospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
