You will be part of the Adult Basic Education and ESOL team where you will concentrate your time working with adult literacies learners who are developing their literacy and numeracy skills within a group context. You will be part of a team working to engage adult learners, young people and families in numeracy learning as part of the national Multiply funding. You will plan, deliver and assess learning needs and abilities of individuals using a range of strategies to overcome barriers and agree an appropriate learning plan with learners. You will manage learning appropriate to the individual needs and aspirations of learners, identifying causal factors in difficulties in acquisition of literacies capabilities and addressing these factors with the learners through a social practice model of learning.

The Person
Experience of delivering literacy and numeracy programmes with adult learners, young people and families using a social practice approach.
Awareness and knowledge of how to support learners with a range of additional support needs such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
Good time management, organisational skills and communication and experience of working effectively with minimum supervision.
Flexible and adaptable in approach with experience of establishing and maintaining good working relationships with young people, families and adult learners, partners and colleagues.
IT skills and experience of online delivery.
Experience of delivering and assessing accredited learning up to SCQF L4/5 or willing to work towards an assessor qualification.
Able to travel between venues and work peripatetically to deliver learning in local communities. Some evening work may be required.
Committed to the ethos of adult literacies to address the aims of the Plan 4 Fife.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
