Hybrid working with around 2 days a week in our Manchester head office, as well as extensive travel across the UK
12-month fixed-term contract
We’re looking for a motivated Agricultural Specialist to join our Ethics, Sustainability and Policy team at Co-op.
In this role, you’ll be working across agriculture and sustainability to help the Co-op deliver their climate change strategy. It’ll be up to you to help us to deliver our sustainability and environmental targets with particular focus on primary production and Scope 3. We’ll look to you to build strong relationships across the supply chain and represent Co-op at a range of meetings and events. This is an exciting role where you’ll get to connect with a wide range of colleagues, farmers and suppliers, gaining valuable industry exposure.
What you’ll do
- Help to deliver Co-op’s sustainability strategies across agriculture, working on a range of projects and collaborating with the wider Ethics, Sustainability and Policy team as well as farmers and industry partners
- Organise and facilitate meetings with colleagues, suppliers, farmers, and travel regularly to meet in person and build meaningful relationships
- Manage a range of queries from customers and members, and provide updates around Co-op’s sustainability initiatives.
This role would suit people who have
- Experience of working in an agricultural supply chain, and/ or working on key sustainability issues facing retailers
- Great communication and networking skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with colleagues and external partners
- A genuine passion for agriculture and sustainability
