Job description: Red Sky are proud to be supporting The London Heliport with their recruitment drive. The Heliport is the capital’s only licensed heliport and are looking to recruit a full-time Operations Coordinator working in a busy operations department within a strong team-working environment.

Located on the River Thames at Battersea in South West London the London Heliport has been operating

60 years providing access to Central London for not only the business community and also public services usage including air ambulance and police.

You will have a passion for working in aviation and preferably have previous experience. Working as part of the small heliport operations team you will have the initiative, flexibility and professionalism to be the first point of contact and public face of the London Heliport to its users and visitors.

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Front of House visitor reception duties including passenger check in. You will have exceptional customer service skills, informing our VIP passengers of flight information, serving refreshments and maintaining cleanliness of facilities. Secure handover of passengers and luggage to airside handling and receiving inbound passengers.
  • The daily running of the flight programme to ensure a smooth flow of traffic through liaison with customer-operators, their aircrew and support staff. Acceptance and processing of all flight bookings using an online booking system.
  • Liaison with external regulating agencies including co-ordination of pre-flight notification to UK border agencies for international flights
  • Information and data-base records, reporting, maintenance of flight movement data & invoicing of services provided, maintenance of stocks and supplies required for administrative and customer service provision for all departments.
  • Processing and assessing airspace safeguarding applications including UAV and crane applications.
  • Playing your role in the provision of a safety-managed, best-practice working environment using an online SMS system.
  • First Aid care (training provided) as part of the emergency response team.

The role is salaried and involves a flexible shift pattern to cover the operational hours and staffing needs of the London Heliport (06.30-23.00).

  • 40 hours per week plus overtime.
  • Regular weekend working and occasional public holidays.
  • Annual Leave is accrued pro-rata.
  • The salary is £26,000 pa. rising to £28,000 after a six month probationary period.

Expected salary: £26000 – 28000 per year
