Job description: Are you interested in a career in the aviation sector? Optime is looking for Security Officers to join a prestigious client at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. This role is open to applicants who have no previous security experience and a genuine interest in aviation, customer service and security.
All necessary training will be fully paid and provided by sector experts including support in obtaining relevant background checks. There is on-site mentoring and clear career pathways leading to specialist management roles within our client’s team, so think big!
What’s on offer?
- £11.44 per hour initially (plus pension and holiday) which will increase once you have completed your X-ray screening training.
- Full time available
- 20-30 hours per week also available
- Start Times mainly start at 4am These are 04:00 – 08:00 & 04:00 – 13:00
- Latest Finish 11:30pm
- Shift Pattern: 5 x ON, 3 x OFF
- Free staff car parking
What you’ll be doing:
- Using equipment and manual search techniques to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into secure airport areas.
- Carrying out regular patrols around airside and landside locations, access control, and passenger and x-ray screening.
- Attending to and investigating reports of incidents.
- Using equipment and manual search techniques to ensure that no prohibited articles are taken into secure airport areas.
- Completing documentation clearly and concisely on any incidents that may have occurred.
- Responding to and assisting with emergency situations.
- Maintaining the highest level of customer service and satisfaction at all times.
The ideal candidate:
- Flexible – You must be able to work early and late shifts
- Outstanding customer service. You will be working closely with the public so the ability to build a good rapport with passengers is essential.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Team player
- Must be over 18
- Must have resided in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years due to the enhanced background checks required.
- Previous airport and/or security experience would be beneficial
Please note: As this is an airport role, successful candidates must pass security checks in line with CAA regulations. These checks include 5-year work and address history, DBS (must have no disqualifying criminal convictions), CTC and valid Right to Work.
