FTE: 1FTE (working 37 hours per week, also open to part time)
Salary: UH8 £44,263 pa to £46,974 pa with potential to progress to £56,021 pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: Maclaurin Building, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield

This exciting opportunity to join a diverse team working in the Business Applications team which procures, implements and develops University Business Applications and bespoke developments.

Main duties and responsibilities
You will be responsible for the planning, design, development / configuration, implementation, support and management of enterprise applications and software solutions to meet University 24/7 service requirements, agreed efficiency and security arrangements and including their inter-operation with other systems and services in accordance with the University’s information management strategy. You will also undertake a key responsibility and provide backup cover across the team, such as for selected enterprise applications, software solutions and services including effective liaison with contracted external suppliers where applicable, and ensuring alignment with agreed strategic priorities, service requirements, security arrangements, and data exchange and inter-operability requirements. Other responsibilities include to plan and cost software developments and project manage designated developments with appropriate project documentation and reports.

Skills and experience required
Substantial proven experience and expertise in configuring and supporting enterprise-level software applications and previous experience of Higher Education and the use of technologies to support the academic, business and management requirements of a UK university are essential for this role. You will have expertise in enterprise database solutions (e.g. Oracle, SQL), expertise in ETL, strong front-end design tools, expertise in reporting and business intelligence applications and expertise in writing guides and self-instructional materials for users.

Qualifications required
You will hold a minimum of a Degree or equivalent level qualification, or proven experience. A qualification in computing at professional level or equivalent expertise and experience is also essential.
