Job description: Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in a local government setting? West Berkshire Council is seeking a motivated individual to join our Public Protection Service as an Applications Technical Officer.
Reporting to the Lead Applications Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality services to our local community.
As an Applications Technical Officer, you will:
- Provide technical support and administration for a range of applications used within the Public Protection Service, ensuring their effective operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement system improvements, enhancing efficiency and service delivery.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training to enable staff to make the most of the applications available.
- Contribute to the analysis and reporting of data, supporting evidence-based decision making.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant industry trends and developments, sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Strong technical skills, with experience in supporting and maintaining applications.
- The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a logical and analytical approach.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
