Job description: Are you looking to kick-start your career in Business Administration within a dynamic and supportive local authority? West Berkshire Council is seeking an Apprentice Business Administrator to join our Legal and Democratic Service, reporting to the Principal Lawyer – People. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience and work towards a nationally recognized qualification while contributing to the smooth operation of our legal and democratic functions.
As an Apprentice Business Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to the Legal and Democratic Service, ensuring the efficient delivery of services. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the coordination of meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and maintaining accurate records.
- Handling incoming enquiries and correspondence, providing timely and professional responses.
- Supporting the team with general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and document management.
- Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the service.
To excel in this role, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, and be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications. You should be a proactive and adaptable team player, able to prioritize your workload effectively and meet deadlines.

The apprenticeship is a fixed term contract for the duration of 24 months from commencement, during which we will work in partnership with a training provider to help you achieve a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
