The Community Team for people with a Learning Disability and Autism is committed to improving outcomes for the people we support. We are looking for individuals who will share our commitment and who are organised, creative, and skilled in communicating with Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism. We are a co-located team that is made up of social care and health colleauges.

What it’s like working in our team…

The CTPLD and Autism is a great team to work in with a shared ethos, mutually supportive and a positive team dynamic. We work with others across the service to draw on specialist knowledge and support.

Located in the South East, Bracknell Forest is a small and friendly unitary authority in Berkshire, just 28 miles west of London, close to Reading and mid-way between the M3 and M4 corridors. You will be supported to carry out the following duties, responsibilities and training…

You will be supporting the Community Services Manager and directly supervising team members including Social Workers and Complex Care Co-ordinators. You will need to provide quality management and professional guidance that focusses on strengths based practice and achieving positive outcomes for the people we support. You will be problem solving on a regular basis and advising on complex case work. You will need to ensure good quality work is taking place and take part in quality audits within the team and support the team to continue to learn and develop. As an Assistant Manager you will be involved in various projects that look at improving service delivery and will have sound knowledge of health and social care legislation.

You will be provided with a laptop and a mobile phone to enable remote working.

What we’re looking for…

We are looking for a Qualified Social Worker who has management experience as well as experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of a learning disability and autism. We are looking for someone who is a team player but who also has the ability to work independelty when required. Our ideal candidate will be someone who is collaborative and works well with our internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone who is collabarative, who proactively seeks development opportunities and has the ability to reflect and learn from experience.
