About the role
Excellent opportunity for an Assistant Finance Accountant to join Ocado for a 12 month contract. Reporting to the Senior Finance Accountant (Intercompany & Consolidation), you will be responsible for the intercompany invoicing/accrual process, supporting the reconciliation of Group intercompany monthly and the consolidation of various entities as required. You will support the month end close process to ensure that the intercompany invoice/accrual workflow is completed, Group intercompany matrix differences are resolved and entities under your responsibility consolidated to enable the timely close of intercompany and consolidation.
Accountabilities
Support the consolidation of acquired entities, primarily in the UK & US, using chart of account mapping tables
Responsible for Balance Sheet substantiation of consolidated entities, providing first level commentary and working closely with the owners of the underlying balances to resolve any queries
Working with wider finance to support the resolution of intercompany differences ensuring period end deadlines are understood
Reconciliation of various intercompany balance sheet accounts across all entities within Ocado group
Ensuring the accurate processing of intercompany invoices and accruals
Processing journal entries/allocations and intercompany transactions to allow for accurate and timely reporting
Support external audit requests as required
Support accurate and consistent ad hoc reporting on intercompany balances
Support ad hoc projects including system changes and related testing
Embed a culture of controls within the team, responsible for operating effectiveness of all key controls within the department’s processes and remediation of any control weaknesses
Proactively identify opportunities to standardise, streamline and improve processes and accuracy
Responsible for the adhering to the period end close calendar timelines
Adhere to Group accounting policies
About you
Part Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
Understanding of relevant regulatory environments
Understanding of core financial processes and relevant systems
Knowledge of accounting, tax and reporting standards & principles,
Experience in a fast-paced global environment (preferable)
Experience of delivering great customer / user experience
Experience in process improvement, automation
Good communicator who has a good attention to detail
