Description of Post
Delivery will normally be on campus with online learning by agreement. A studio model of continuous assessment and feedback is used to deliver all modules. The post may include elements of project-based and blended learning. Some modules may be shared/ co-taught with other faculty members.
Appointment(s) may be on a fixed term/pro-rata/part-time basis as required at Assistant Lecturer level.
Please note: The postholder will be based at the ATU Donegal, Letterkenny Campus.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum
- An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent.
- Three years relevant post-qualification experience.
Desirable
- Holding a Masters (level 9) in a related area and/or in teaching and learning
- Applicants should be able to teach in at least two of the following areas:
- Graphic Design and Illustration
- Film and Media Production
- Animation
- Fashion Design + Promotion
- Visual Inquiry
- Design History + Theory
- Experience teaching design studio and priority subjects where feedback and critique are shared sensitively, helping students to acquire design skills.
- Relevant training/teaching/lecturing experience in a third-level environment including online teaching.
- Significant industry experience working on a variety of project typologies
- Ability to teach in online and hybrid environments
- Experience of research in an industrial or academic environment
