Applications are invited for the above post for maternity cover based in the University’s Research and Innovation (R&I) Department at the Jubilee Campus, Nottingham. The University of Nottingham is a research-driven institution with a leading international profile. R&I Research Operations provide support, advice and guidance to the University’s research community. It also facilitates interaction between academics, research sponsors, and with business, regional and wider communities.

The Assistant Research Finance Manager acts as a first line manager to the Post Award team and reports to the Research Finance Business Partner. The main purposes of the role are to act as immediate line manager of the Post Award team (the Research Finance Project Co-ordinators) providing advice and guidance on complex aspects of research projects and procedures. The Assistant Research Finance Manager is responsible for training and induction of new Research Finance Project Co-ordinators and for the on-going training and development of existing members of staff, including designing and delivering new training to meet gaps. The Assistant Research Finance Manager is responsible for the production and maintenance of procedures and information relating to Post Award administration of externally funded research projects.

Candidates should have substantial experience in a relevant role covering financial expertise, and line management experience is desirable. Candidates should have AAT or highly relevant degree equivalent or broad vocational experience.

The post is offered as a full-time (36.25 hours), fixed term position for 12 months. Job share arrangements may be considered.
