Assistant Professor of Architectural History and Theory/Urban Design at University of Cambridge
Job Description
The Department of Architecture wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor in History and Theory of Architecture and/or Urban Design. The Department invites applications from candidates with a research focus on any aspect of the theory or history of architecture and urban design to lecture in both the Architecture and Design undergraduate degrees, supervise undergraduates, Master and PhD students and to be actively involved in teaching and examining architectural studios.
We are seeking individuals with a strong record of research publications commensurate with their level of experience, who has the potential to become a key player in the Department’s teaching and research activities. Candidates will be expected to be engaged in high-level research, to publish in their specialist field, to seek opportunities to win external funding for that research
Candidates must have an Undergraduate Degree in Architecture, and a doctorate in Architecture or Architectural History or a related field. The candidate would ideally have a professional second degree in Architecture (MArch or equivalent), and experience lecturing and teaching architectural studio. The post holder will be expected to teach in a studio and hands-on environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment on 1 September 2024.
