Job description: Are you passionate about digital advertising and analytics? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our growing MA Digital Media Management team.

We are looking for an Associate Lecturer to teach our Digital Marketing Initiative module, an option module for our MA Digital Media Management programme.

The Digital Marketing Initiative module is taught in Birkbeck’s Summer term, beginning 22 April 2024. This module is designed around Birkbeck’s participation in the Google Ad Grant programme which provides teams of students the opportunity to manage a live Google Ad campaign for a non-profit organization.

The role will mentor and supervise students as they complete their Google Ad Grant programme and supplement the Grant experience with a number of additional workshops covering key issues, theories and strategies in digital analytics and online advertising.

The Associate Lecturer will set and mark student assignments, providing productive feedback for improvement, as well as possessing, or be willing to complete, Google accreditation in Ads Measurement and Ads Search. This accreditation is free and takes approximately one day to complete.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an applicant with a PhD in digital marketing and advertising, or equivalent industry work experience. Previous university-level teaching experience at BA or MA level would be desirable. As would experience module planning and marking.

Remuneration

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £68.53 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
