Role description

We are currently looking for an Associate Project Manager to join our Local Authority focused team to work on a range of exciting projects across Cornwall. As an Associate Project Manager you will deliver excellent client outcomes by leading or working as part of teams delivering built asset projects, predominantly, but not exclusively, to local authority clients. This will include complex and challenging housing development and regeneration projects and programmes at all stages.

Role accountabilities

  • The day-to-day delivery of high quality, profitable services to clients
  • Working with colleagues to manage £multi-million projects and programmes from inception through feasibility, design and planning stages to completion and occupation/operation
  • Helping to create project plans and then executing and managing them effectively for clients, managing risk, change and programme delivery effectively
  • Assembling and leading multi-disciplinary design and consultancy teams, often with a mixture of Arcadis colleagues, sub-consultants and consultants appointed by the client
  • Leading the procurement, appointment and management of contractors with support from public sector officers and legal advisors
  • Presenting progress reporting to clients and working with them to manage through complexity to achieve the outcomes their project investments are designed to facilitate.
  • Accountable for delivery of timely and accurate data collection, analysis and reports
  • Responsible for interpreting and communicating project support policies, processes and systems
  • Responsible for monitoring and escalation of project management KPIs and performance metrics
  • Responsible for communicating and highlighting project process compliance issues to project managers
  • Responsible for performance management of project team / resource

  • Flexible skills focused on client engagement and a drive to deliver successful projects
  • Experience of working in or for local authority clients
  • Experience in delivery of residential projects preferably with a social housing focus
  • Ability and desire to communicate well with a diverse mix of stakeholders
  • An understanding of public procurement
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management at all stages of projects, with a particular focus on design and construction.
  • A hunger to learn and develop and a drive to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients.
  • A digital mindset, with the ability to use technology to better manage projects
