ASL Technical are now working with a leading Global Automotive Manufacturer as they look to expand their Connected Car delivery team..

Main Purpose of Connected Car Project Engineer

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the TCU (Telematic Control Units) for Connected Car application.
  • Meet programme KPIs for Cost, Quality and Delivery.
  • Liaison with Tier 1 suppliers to meet the Development Schedule and management against quality timelines.

Connected Car Project Engineer Description

  • Development of TCU software improvements to support feature and quality improvements for mass production vehicles.
  • Establish a solid FOTA process to enable quick deployment to market.
  • Generation and release of TCU configuration data
  • Coordination of in house and supplier TCU validation ahead of new software releases.
  • Collaboration between the Connected Car team and the Test teams (both on-board and off-board) to confirm connected car functionality & performance.
  • Collaborate with related engineering sections to ensure all system components are packaged and connected correctly to meet all system design and regulation requirements.
  • Status reporting to management at all levels.

Connected Car Project Engineer Opportunity

The Connected Car Project Engineer role would suit suitably qualified engineers with circa 3 years experience in either software delivery, connected car, or related disciplines who have gained experience within an OEM or Tier 1 environment.

Do you have the required experience for the Connected Car Project Engineer role:

  • Degree qualified in STEM Engineering subject with circa 3 years experience.
  • Understanding and experience of telematics system development is a must.
  • Experience liaising with Tier 1 suppliers for the delivery of complex electronic products.
  • Understanding of both IOT and vehicle level protocols (MQTT, TCP/IP, CAN, UDS, Ethernet).
  • Experience liaising with 3rd party telematics service providers and MNO’s.
  • Solid PC skills for analysis and report writing.
