Job description: Are you a Vehicle Technician with Electrical skills seeking a new opportunity to grow your career? ASL Technical are now working with a leading Automotive manufacturer as they look to expand their electrical technicians’ team.
Main Purpose of Electrical Vehicle Technician
Reporting to the EDS Manager the purpose of the rope is ensure our vehicles’ electrical systems are in top-notch shape, from prototype harness creation to launch phase support.
Responsibilities of Electrical Vehicle Technician:
- Create test reports during testing given an accurate account of events to the EDS team.
- Electrical fault finding, establishing root cause.
- Complete harness rework modification for full vehicle LV electrical systems.
- Support POC rigs, lab car, mule build during development build phases.
- LV Harness reworks and prototype harness manufacture.
- Kitting of the harness material and preparation for each phase for yourself and the rework team.
- Deliver functional prototype harnesses to support development build phases.
- Program launch – Build support, RCA and harness fault rectification.
- Support external electrical related testing when required.
- Support UK and overseas whole vehicle and component testing.
- Task tracking – Weekly program status report.
Experience / Knowledge for the Electrical Vehicle Technician
- Automotive EDS knowledge and experience for complete wire harness design process.
- Familiar with wire harness rework and supporting development phases.
- Experience in building complex prototype Wiring Harnesses.
- A minimum of 3 years in a similar technical environment, ideally motorsport / automotive.
- Apprenticeship time served and/or BTEC National Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
- Familiar with automotive connectors depinning and wire crimping.
- Ability to read design drawings and create Bills of materials for Prototype and First builds.
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams/schematics.
