This is the job

Being a part of our AAmazing Technical Help Desk team, you will provide advice, information and support to our AA Customers and Patrols – so whether it is a light on the dashboard, or a customer has broken down, you’ll be there to help keep them on the right road.

You’ll support our Customers by discussing and assessing their enquiry to see whether you are able to resolve prior to a Patrol rescuing.

What will I be doing?

  • Liaise with AA members, repairing workshops and Roadside Patrols to support broken down vehicles being repaired quickly and efficiently
  • Provide technical advice to AA members in both live and non-live breakdown situations to prevent the unnecessary deployment of Roadside Patrols
  • Allocate appropriate resources to roadside breakdowns
  • Assist our AA members via phone professionally and efficiently to ensure we retain a high-standard customer satisfaction rate
  • Record all enquiries on the appropriate database to assist with providing detailed management information

What do I need?

  • Level 2 City & Guilds or NVQ in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Repair
  • Motor vehicle service & repair experience
  • Motor vehicle fault diagnosis experience
  • Customer focused with the ability to translate complex technical information clearly and concisely in a professional manner
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer care during a breakdown situation

Additional Information

We’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do. As a valued member of The AA, you will join and learn within a team that’s as driven as they are supportive and have access to a range of benefits including:

  • Free AA breakdown membership from day one, 50% discount for family and friends in the first year plus discounts on other AA products
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + the option to buy additional annual leave

  • Pension scheme available up to 7% contribution
  • Exclusive EV discount scheme
  • Diverse learning and development opportunities to support you to progress in your career
  • Access to employee inclusivity networks
  • Optional Critical Illness Insurance cover available to all AA Colleagues

We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. The AA values diversity and the difference this brings to our culture and our customers. We actively seek people from diverse backgrounds to join us and become part of an inclusive company where you can be yourself, be empowered to be your best and feel like you truly belong. We have five communities to bring together people with shared characteristics and backgrounds and drive positive change.
