£29.60ph equivalent to £60,028.80

We are recruiting a Design Engineer with Trim experience for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis a may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:

  • Development of new BIW and trim parts and systems for automotive vehicles
  • Maintenance of existing BIW and trim parts systems for automotive vehicles
  • Carry out work necessary to deliver part and system design tasks on BIW and trim to cost, quality and timing targets.
  • Ability to travel within UK, Europe, Japan and USA is necessary.
  • Working from home is possible with prior agreement of Manager provided home is within the UK.
  • Work with automotive company, alliance partner, suppliers and any other external organisations as required.
  • Engineer should be able to work on their own initiative within the company, Alliance and regulatory standards
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software

Qualifications & Experience for the Design Engineer:

  • Minimum HNC/HND or international equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. Degree level qualification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in automotive design, minimum Tier 1 supplier, OEM preferred.
  • CAD skill is highly preferable but not mandatory (preferably NX)
  • Experience of supplier management is necessary.
  • Experience of working with other automotive OEMs
  • Experience of working with BIW pressings and assembly as well as trim parts is necessary
  • Driving licence valid in the UK/EU is necessary

Hours & Pay for the Design Engineer:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 39 hours per week
  • £29.60ph equivalent to £60,028.80

Expected salary: £60 – 29.6 per hour

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire
