The Role
We are currently recruiting an Aviation Surveyor to join our growing team. In this role, you will be able to utilise your industry experience whilst transitioning into Loss Adjusting world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receipt of new claim instructions and initiating claims handling procedures
- Attendance at incident site (where applicable) to complete a thorough investigation of loss circumstances and damages sustained
- Liaison with official accident investigation agencies (governmental and/or commercial) and other agencies including airport authorities, landowners, etc
- Evaluation and assessment of all elements which may impact upon Underwriters’ potential exposure under the Policy of Insurance
- Regular liaison and reporting to Underwriters and other insurance practitioners regarding circumstances, damage, costs and cause of loss, including detailed assessment and reporting of settlement options and recommendations
- Regular liaison with Insured to progress claims settlement
- Liaison and negotiation with prospective repair agents, manufacturers, third party claimants in respect of recovery, damage, repair workscopes, cost estimates. Approval of cost estimates and final invoices
- Provision of technical advice to in-house liability team, external lawyers in respect of liability and/or subrogation issues
- Where necessary to act as expert witness in litigation/enquiries
- Provision of general advice and assistance to Underwriters in respect of interpretation of policy conditions
- Provision of ad-hoc technical advice and expertise to aviation insurance market
- Provision of aircraft technical assessment and valuation services to the aviation market
- Provision of risk assessment services
- Marketing of Charles Taylor aviation
- To undertake any other reasonable duties assigned
Required Skills
– Prior experience as an aviation maintenance professional preferred
– B1/B2 Licensed Engineer
– AOG exposure is desirable but not mandatory
– Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
– Good IT skills (proficiency in Word and Excel essential)
– Strong analytical mind with an attention to detail
