Our successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake:

Delivery and Leadership

  • Lead on benefits management activity and work with projects to support delivery of business case benefits and outcomes. Champion the use of best practice, and provide expert advice for team members

Business Case(s)

  • Support project managers in preparing and updating the benefits elements of their business case working with specialists as required.

Benefits Management Strategy

  • Define and shape the benefits management strategy taking into account the wider BBTP methodology.

Benefits Realisation Plan(s)

  • Establish and maintain the project Benefits Realisation Plan including change control.

Tracking and Reporting

  • Establish the mechanism for the tracking and reporting of benefits through the project lifecycle and into realisation.

Benefits Mapping

  • Facilitate workshop, maps benefits and circulates for agreement and approval. Applies experience to provide challenge and ensure assumptions are robust. Working with a range of stakeholders to validate and test dependencies.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure benefits are identified, understood, owned and maximised. Briefs key stakeholders ahead of benefits review. Engages with stakeholders across BBTP to assess consistency and test double counting.

Person specification

We’re looking for a successful candidate with:

  • Good data analysis skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An ability to prioritise work to meet targets and deadlines
  • The ability to work unsupervised and take initiative
  • Excellent ability with Microsoft applications, including Excel and SharePoint
  • A recognised Project Management qualification (or working towards/willingness to work towards) such as APMG Managing Benefits Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner, APMG International Project Planning and Control Practitioner, APMG Better Business Cases, PMI Project Management Professional

Experience

  • 2 or more years’ practical experience working with project and/or programme benefits
  • Experience of working in a project and/or programme environment
