Job description: Our client a leading IT Solutions provider are seeking to recruit a BI Consultant/ SQL Server Data Warehouse Developer to work remotely with a few office visits a month in Manchester. You will bring the below skill set:
Position: Business Intelligence Delivery Consultant
As a BI Consultant within the Business Insight Group you strive for quality and are focused in delivering solutions to our customers, and more. The successful candidate will work within a diverse team implementing solutions in both public and private sector clients across the UK.
The role presents an opportunity for a highly motivated person to gain a diverse, hands-on range of technical and commercial skills as well as inter-personal and client-facing skills in a dynamic consulting environment. To fulfil the needs of the role, the candidate will need to be able to fulfil the duties below.
Design and implementation of on-premise and cloud-based data warehouse/business intelligence solutions using SQL and commercial ETL tools. Many solutions involve implementing packaged solutions, but others may be full life-cycle developments.
Conducting requirements analysis and definition workshops with clients. Production of relevant documentation to a good standard.
Installation and configuration of third-party applications and own software.
Requirements:
We’re looking for a variety of skills and experience levels in data warehouse and analytical applications.
Above all else, we’re looking for smart, passionate candidates who have:
- 2-4 years’ experience in BI and Data Warehousing delivery
- Experience of working within a structured project delivery environment, perhaps where techniques such as Prince or Agile are used.
- Self-starter that communicates well on all levels
- An open, collaborative communication style and a team player.
- An ability to think fast and learn quickly.
- A passion for quality.
Core Technical Skills
- SQL Server version 2008 and above, particularly using TSQL.
- Experience with Data Warehousing design techniques and technologies.
- Experience of developing ETL/ELT workflows.
- A strong understanding of BI tools, techniques, and processes.
Alongside the core skills listed above, we would be interested in applicants who have experience in one or more of the following areas. This role will provide the opportunity for a candidate to learn the following skills as we continue to evolve our products using cloud technology. Training will be provided where necessary.
- Experience with Azure product stack (Azure Data Factory, Data lake Gen2, Cosmos DB)
- Experience with a commercial BI tool (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau)
- Healthcare industry knowledge/experience is hugely desirable
